Harbour Song
A free piano piece at Level 2 for practising left-hand intervals. Print it, play along at three speeds, and share it with your students.
When to use this piece
Use it when the left hand lags the right, or when a student is starting to play two notes together in the left hand.
How to practise it
- Play the left hand alone, naming each interval.
- Play hands together at 60% with the recording.
- Increase the speed once both notes of each interval sound together.
Teacher tip. Shape the hand over the interval before it is needed. Silent preparation removes most of the hesitation.
